A New Home for the Buccaneers...

There is a great excitement in the region about the new baseball project. We believe this new stadium will take baseball to the championship level. And, not only will the Buccaneers have a new home to achieve in, but the stadium will offer a student and family oriented village/plaza, private housing and a corridor to downtown with walking trails, water features and green spaces.

The new Baseball stadium is another example of how public/private cooperatives can help build our program and make our new athletic facilities a reality. New facilities provide the greatest potential to transform ETSU and strengthen our continued ascent in intercollegiate athletics. And, since athletics is often thought of as the window through which a university in viewed, top-notch athletic facilities benefit the entire University campus And since new facilities provide the greatest potential to transform ETSU for years to come and strengthen our continued ascent in intercollegiate athletics. The stadium architecture is designed to unite the architecture of the university and the urban connection to downtown Johnson City. Designed to maximize fan experience, the new stadium will include:

  • TV-quality lighting
  • Luxury boxes and seating for 3,000 with options to expand
  • State-of-the-art scoreboard
  • Dugouts attached to clubhouse with easy access to bullpens and hitting tunnels
  • Fan-mall, including team offices, team stores, Hall of Fame area, concessions, sports-theme restaurants and retail opportunities

Weather permitting, grading will be finished by early summer with construction immediately following. The stadium will be complete to the point that the Buccaneers play in their new residence spring 2011.
