Job Description: Ticket Taker (Part-Time / Non-Benefit Position)

Reports to: Director of Business / Ticket Operations / Ticket Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests upon entry to arena with a smile and “welcome to ETSU Athletics”.
  • Provide primary level of guest assistance at the entry areas to arena.
  • Admit guests into game venues only after validating authenticity of each guest’s ticket or proper pass credentials.
  • Deny access to guests without a valid ticket or proper pass credentials and refer then to the nearest Ticket Sales Booth.
  • Collect tickets and/or Scan passes and deposit ticket stubs into designated collection site.
  • Provide guests with directions and other game venue information.
  • Act promptly and courteously upon all comments and complaints received.
  • Alert Security and / or Game Day Event Management in cases of emergencies, or suspicious behavior of guests.

Abilities, Skills and Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Dependable transportation, reports to work on time, without exception.
  • Friendly, personable, positive attitude.
  • Neat appearance and dress attire.
  • Excellent customer service skills, required.
  • Team player with the ability and desire to work with others.
  • Must have a flexible schedule to be available for ALL HOME GAMES, both nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
  • Season begins November 1, 2010 and ends February 14, 2011.

The office of Athletic Media Relations is looking for volunteer workers for the upcoming 2011-12 sports seasons. Internships for class credit may be offered for students depending on class criteria and assigned duties. Community members may also join the Buccaneers staff. A number of office and gameday responsibilities are available for dependable, independant, sports-minded individuals.

 

Available positions for gamedays include, but not limited to:

  • Statisticians and "callers" for:
    Volleyball
    Women's Soccer
    Men's and Women's Basketball
  • Public Address Anouncers
  • Stat runners
  • Pre- and Post-game Assistance
  • Photographers
  • Writers
  • Assistance with Buccaneer Radio Network

Office positions include:

  • Graphic Designers
  • Photographers
  • Primary and secondary responsibilities to specific ETSU sports
  • Researchers and Archivists
  • Pre-game preparations

Position: Marketing Internship

Objective:
To help promote ETSU athletics to students, the surrounding community, and any other fans while learning skills related to marketing, advertising, and promotion. Intern will also be one of the leading officers of the BucWild student section.

 

Hours:
In volunteer cases, 1 hour in office and all home games. Schedule negotiable based on school need.

Responsibilities:
Act as leading officer for BucWild
Organize student section
Generate and implement new ideas for all facets of marketing
Create promotional material
Build databases and utilize data analysis to enhance strategies
Assist in market research
Manage social media
Aid in promotions at all home games
Help develop marketing plan
Assist with and perform any other duties assigned by the Marketing Assistant

Requirements:
Students looking to fulfill internship credit hours/requirements preferred
Able to attend a majority of the home games
Upperclassmen preferred
