Drew Weber is in his first year as a member of the ETSU Athletic Media Relations staff, currently serving as the primary contact for women’s basketball and outdoor track & field.

A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Weber earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Administration, along with a minor in Business Administration, in Dec. 2012. During his time at UC, the Cincinnati native interned in the University’s Sports Communications office for nearly two years, as well as served as an intern with the Hamilton Joes Baseball Club of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League for two summers.

In Weber’s first, true experience working in the sports industry with the Joes, the UC student assisted with various gameday tasks including ballpark operations, marketing & promotions and ticketing as well the creation of publications for gameday programs.

While serving as an intern at UC, Weber learned the ins and outs of working in athletic communications/media relations through various tasks. These duties included, but were not limited to, drafting press releases, developing organizational publicity, researching and compiling statistics as well as catering to the needs of the media through game notes, media guides, etc. In winter/spring 2012, the senior was also given the responsibility of serving as the primary contact for the women’s tennis team for the entire season. Additionally, in March 2013, the UC graduate was awarded the University of Cincinnati Athletic Department Special Recognition Award through the College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services and the Sport Administration program for outstanding performance both as a student and as an intern in the department.

Weber will begin pursuing a Master’s Degree in Sport Management from ETSU in fall 2013.
