Longtime international coach Bill McCammon joined the ETSU men's basketball staff prior to the 2014-15 season.
McCammon, who played at and graduated from UAB in 1981, spent 10 seasons as an assistant coach at the college level before beginning a 23-year run on the international circuit where he served as a head coach for professional teams in countries such as Puerto Rico, Cyprus, Mexico, Spain, Venezuela, Eritrea, Indonesia, Nepal and the Dominican Republic.
Having built strong ties throughout the International Basketball Federation – better known as FIBA – McCammon brings a unique set of experiences and connections to the ETSU program. Both as an international lecturer, clinician and a coach, McCammon’s resume includes not only coaching professionals on the international stage, but also developing national teams for countries such as Indonesia and Eritrea.
McCammon and his Cypriot wife Pola have a daughter Anastasia, who is a junior at the University of California-Santa Barbara, and a son Odysseas, who is finishing high school on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus this year.
McCammon joins a staff that includes another first-year assistant in Jason Slay, while both Bob Bolen and Mark Richmond are entering their second year with the program.
