A second year graduate student from Eastbourne, England, Smith is currently a candidate for Kinesiology and Sports Science with a concentration in Exercise Physiology and Performance. Smith joins the ETSU coaching staff for his first season as a collegiate coach after playing his final year of eligibility for ETSU in 2015.
During the 2015 season for the Bucs, the midfielder scored seven goals with five assists and 19 points. He played and started in all 19 matches including upset wins over Kentucky and UNCG in the SoCon Tournament. Smith was a First Team All-Conference member and earned the SoCon Player of the Month in September after netting four goals and dishing a pair of assists. He was also named Player of the Week in early September after scoring the go-ahead goal and tallying an assist against the Wildcats.
An undergraduate of Lees-McRae College, he played four years at LMC and started in 60 games for the Bobcats. He finished with 53 career points with 17 goals and 19 assists. He earned All-Conference, All-Region, and First Team Academic All-American honors while at LMC.
As a coach, Smith earned his E license and FA Level Two license. He also coaches a men's and women's FC Dallas Tri youth teams in Johnson City.
