JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 30, 2009) - The ETSU baseball team is set to host Florida Gulf Coast in a three-game conference series with the two teams playing a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. on Friday at Cardinal Park. The final game of the series is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Bucs (23-19, 9-12 A-Sun) are currently on a school record nine-game winning streak having swept High Point last weekend as the Buccaneers pounded out 47 runs on 18 doubles, a triple and six home runs. ETSU is led offensively by sophomore Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) who is coming off of a A-Sun player of the week selection as he leads the team hitting .379 on the season.
The Eagles (26-16, 16-5 A-Sun) have won four straight and their last eight in conference with sweeps over USC Upstate and Lipscomb. Florida Gulf Coast is led by third baseman Tim Roberson and first baseman Zach Maxfield as there are tied for the team lead in hitting with a .373 average.
