JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 8, 2010) - The ETSU baseball team is set to face Jacksonville in the River City in a three-game series starting Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The two teams will close out the series with a doubleheader on Saturday with the first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
The Bucs (17-11, 6-3 A-Sun) are 5-1 in weekend series going into the Jacksonville series. Sophomore Matthew Scruggs (Knoxville, Tenn.) is currently on a nine-game hit streak, while junior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) has continued his hot start as he is first in the Atlantic Sun in average (.452) and home runs (13).
ETSU is 4-8 all-time against the Dolphins as the road team has swept the series in the last two meetings.
Jacksonville (16-14, 8-4 A-Sun) comes into the series having won four of its last five games including a sweep of USC Upstate last weekend. The Dolphins are led by Jamaal Hawkins as he is hitting a team high .390 with 11 doubles and 30 RBI.
