JOHNSON CITY,
The Bucs (20-16, 9-6 A-Sun) were out hit 20-12 in the contest despite tying the school record with six home runs. Junior Bo Burton (
ASU reliever Taylor Miller earned the win improving to 5-0 as he threw a scoreless seventh for the Mountaineers (27-8-1, 9-8-1 SoCon).
Offensively, first baseman Paul Hoilman (

Second baseman Derek Niesman (
Appalachian State evened the game at 4-all in the third scoring four runs on four hits including a RBI double by Jerod Faggart.
The Bucs jumped back in front 6-4 on the bottom half of the third on solo home runs by Hoilman and Bo Reeder (
ASU cut the Buccaneer lead to 6-5 in the fourth as Doug Jones came in to score on a single by Hector Crespo.
In the bottom half of the inning, with two on Hoilman crushed his second homer of the game over the fence in right for a three-run home run to extend the ETSU lead to 9-5.
A two-run single by Jason Wallace in the fifth brought the Mountaineers within two runs, 9-7.
After holding the Bucs scoreless in the fifth, ASU tied the game 9-9 in the sixth on a RBI double by Wes Hobson and a RBI single by David Towarnicky.

The Mountaineers battled back to tie the game for the third time in the seventh as Ryan Stetson came in to score on a Hobson sac fly to center.
Appalachian State grabbed its first lead of the game in the eighth Faggart came in to score on a ball hit to second by Tyler Zupcic to make the score 11-10 Mountaineers.
Will Helms and Chris Patterson combined to throw a scorless eighth and ninth for the Mountaineers as Patterson picked up his 12th save of the year.
The Bucs are back in action Friday at 6 p.m. as they face
