JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 10, 2010) - ETSU head baseball coach Tony Skole announced the signing Zach Waters (Woodstock, Ga.) to finalize the 2010-11 class on Tuesday.
Waters joins right-handed pitcher Dak Rissman (Lake Worth, Fla.), right-handed pitcher John Long (Anderson, S.C.), left-handed pitcher Justin Willis (Knoxville, Tenn.), catcher Steven Monger (Oak Ridge, Tenn.),left-handed pitcher Clinton Freeman (Johnson City, Tenn.), right-handed pitcher Bret Gallihugh (Sevierville, Tenn.),infielder Corey McPherson (Johnson City, Tenn.) and outfielder Dylan Pratt (Gray, Tenn.) on the 2010-11 signing class.
"We are excited to welcome Zach into our baseball family," Skole said. "He comes from one of the top high school and summer programs in the state of Georgia. Zach is a tremendous young man who has a very bright future ahead of him, and his ceiling is very high. Zach has a lot of versatility as he is a top notch catcher and he can also run it up there pretty good from the mound. Buccaneer fans are going to enjoy watching this young man develop. Zach will be a great asset to our campus and community."
Waters, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound right-handed pitcher and catcher comes from Etowah High School where he played for coach Greg Robinson. A two-year letterwinner, Waters earned All-County and All-Georgia Dugout Club honors in 2010 after hitting .368 with seven home runs and 40 RBI. Waters also was outstanding defensively throwing out 21 of 32 base runners as a senior.
