JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 4, 2011) - Junior Bo Reeder (Cookeville, Tenn.) picked up his second Atlantic Sun weekly honor of the season as he was named the A-Sun Player of the Week after the ETSU baseball team won its first series against Florida Gulf Coast this past weekend, the conference office announced on Monday.
Reeder led the way offensively for ETSU (16-8, 8-5 A-Sun) hitting .429 (6-for-14) with two doubles, three home runs and seven RBI as the Bucs won also their first regular season game against the Eagles. Reeder became the second fastest Buccaneer to reach the 200-hit plateau on his second home run in the Saturday contest.
The junior got things going for ETSU in the first game as his three-run home run sparked a 10-run eighth inning as the Bucs posted a season-best 16 runs. Reeder also accounted for eight runs while slugging 1.214 on the weekend and threw two scoreless innings of relief to increase his scoreless inning streak to 13.2 innings.
The award is the fourth for Reeder in his career. Reeder was named the Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the week on March 14 after picking up four saves in one week including three at North Florida.
