ETSU Baseball and Softball host home run derby for students

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 18, 2011) - The ETSU baseball and softball teams along with the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics held a home run derby Monday just outside the Culp Center in an effort to promote upcoming home games to ETSU students, faculty and staff.
Students got a chance to hit off of head baseball coach Tony Skole and head softball coach Brad Irwin as over 100 students participated in the home run derby. Players from both teams also helped with the event shagging ball and greeting students.
The ETSU baseball team will host Virginia Tech (April 19) and Kennesaw State (April 21-23) this week at Cardinal Park, while the softball team is slated to face Furman (April 19) and Campbell (April 22) at Betty Basler Field.
