Scruggs earns second A-Sun POTW award

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 2, 2011) - Junior Matthew Scruggs (Knoxville, Tenn.) earned his second Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honor as the Bucs swept the Manhattan Jaspers in the ESPN Mid-Major Matchup of the Week, announced the conference office on Monday.
 
Scruggs was exceptional for the Bucs on the week hitting .583 (7-for-12) with two doubles, two home runs and drove in five as ETSU went 4-0 on the week. The junior outfielder also drew four walks on the week and scored seven times while slugging an amazing 1.250.
 
In the Manhattan series, Scruggs hit .444 with four runs and a homer in the sweep as the Knoxville, Tenn. Native has been hot as of late hitting .385 in the month of April.
 
Scruggs won his first POTW award on March 14 after leading ETSU to a sweep of UNF.
