JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 30, 2011) – The ETSU baseball team continued to pile on the post-season accolades as both juniors Bo Reeder (Cookeville, Tenn.) and Dylan Pratt (Johnson City, Tenn.) received American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-South Region First Team honors. Reeder was also selected as an ABCA/Rawlings Second Team All-American utility player.
The All-South Region selections are only the third in the program’s history. Reeder was tabbed a First Team relief pitcher ahead of Matt Price from the 2011 National Champion South Carolina Gamecocks, while Dylan Pratt was taken as a First Team designated hitter.
Reeder also became only the second Buccaneer to earn ABCA/Rawlings All-American honors joining Caleb Moore who was selected as a Second Team utility player in 2005.
The junior right-hander led the country in saves for most of the season finishing with an Atlantic Sun single season record of 18. Reeder also had a strong season at the plate hitting .316 with 16 doubles, 15 home runs and a team-best 59 RBI.
Pratt also had an outstanding season offensively finishing second on the squad with 57 runs batted in while posting a .311 average and 15 home runs. The junior will head to Omaha, Neb. this weekend to compete in the 2nd Annual TD AMERITRADE College Home Run Derby at TD AMERITRADE Park.
