Johnson City, Tenn. -- Wake Forest's Carlos Brackley went 2-3 with a second-inning grand slam that propelled the Demon Deacons to a 15-1 win against East Tennessee State at ETSU's Cardinal Park.

Wake Forest starter Brad Comer (1-1) allowed just two hits and no runs in five innings of work to earn the win. The Demon Deacons' leadoff hitter Cory Sullivan went 2-6 with a three-run homer and a double.

After a scoreless first inning, Wake Forest struck for four runs in the top of the second. The Demon Deacons loaded the bases with no outs and cleared them when Brackley belted a grand slam to left center. Wake Forest loaded the bases again and chased ETSU starter Jackson Simerly (0-3). The Demon Deacons scored three more runs in the frame, two on a double by Chase Voshell.

Wake Forest struck for four more in the third, highlighted by a three-run bomb to right center by Cory Sullivan. Wake Forest increased their lead to 12-0 in the fourth, before Dan Conway's home run in the sixth gave the Deacons a 13-0 advantage.

Wake Forest loaded the bases on three walks in the seventh and scored two more runs to make it 15-0 after seven innings. The Bucs finally cracked into the run column with an RBI single by Danny Pugh in the home-half of the eighth. Pugh went 2-4 on the day.
