JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May, 12, 2004) -- The East Tennessee State baseball team opens a three-game set with West Virginia Thursday night at 7 p.m. from Hawley Field in Morgantown, W.V. The Bucs and Mountaineers will also play Friday night at 7 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. East Tennessee State is 25-23, 14-13 in Southern Conference play after winning 11 of its last 15 games. West Virginia is 18-27, 8-15 in Big East games, having lost their last five games. The Mountaineers fell 15-11 Tuesday night to Kent State. WVU was also scheduled to face the Golden Flashes Wednesday night, but the game was rained out. The Bucs and Mountaineers have never met on the diamond, but the Bucs are 1-0 this season against Big East teams. ETSU defeated Virginia Tech, 11-7, on Apr. 27 in the Kingsport Classic from Hunter Wright Stadium. East Tennessee State will face the Hokies again on May 19 from Cardinal Park in Johnson City, Tenn.
