ETSU baseball team helps raise money at Equifest Rodeo
Monday, September 12, 2005
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (September 12, 2005) - The ETSU baseball team recently took part in the first ever Equifest Rodeo, a fund raising event benefiting the Crumley House, a brain injury rehabilitation center.
"Having 20-30 people show up to help is such a big deal, we really appreciate having the ETSU baseball team here helping us," said executive director Guynn Edwards.
The team assisted the Crumley House staff in several different capacities at the rodeo. Team members served as security, some served and sold concessions, and others worked as parking attendants for both participants and spectators.
This is the second year that the Buccaneer baseball team has helped with the Crumley House's fall fundraiser.
"It's a great opportunity to deal with different people, good people, It really humbles you to be around people whose lives have been changed forever," said junior pitcher Jeremy Hall (Gray, Tenn.).
The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics takes pride in its community service activities and strives for 100 percent participation from its student-athletes, coaches and administrators throughout the year.
