(Mar. 31, 2007) - Senior Caleb Galfenhein (Knoxville, Tenn.) tossed a complete game to open Saturday's doubleheader, and junior Anthony Russell (Waldorf, Md.) mashed two home runs in the finale, as ETSU snapped a three game losing streak and claimed an Atlantic Sun Conference series victory over visiting Campbell with a pair of 5-4 victories Saturday afternoon at Cardinal Park.  The doubleheader sweep also maintains ETSU's position atop the A-Sun standings.

Glafenhein (9-2) scattered seven hits and allowed just two earned runs in the complete game effort, but the Bucs (20-11, 7-2) still needed two unearned runs in the eighth inning to pull out the game one victory.

Trailing 3-2 entering the eighth, senior Justin Aughey (Davie, Fla.) led off the frame with a double to right center field.  After a sacrifice bunt moved him to third, freshman Tanner Moore singled to right field, bringing home the game-tying run.  Three consecutive two-out throwing errors by Campbell third baseman Daniel Smith plated the fourth and fifth Buccaneer runs.

After Campbell scored a run on a fielding error with one out in the top of the ninth, Glafenhein induced a 6-4-3 double play to end the threat and preserve the 5-4 victory.

Glafenhein struck out three and threw just 90 pitches for his second consecutive complete game victory.  Campbell reliever Chris England allowed three runs on just two hits in his one inning of work, falling to 1-7 on the season.

Russell staked the Bucs to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first in game two, wrapping Campbell starter Blake Herring's 2-1 offering around the left field foul pole.

The Bucs manufactured a pair of runs in the second inning for a 3-0 lead.  Freshman Ryan Self (Mt. Juliet, Tenn.) led off the second inning with a walk, advancing to third on Moore's single to right center, and scored on sophomore Troy Mendez's (Roswell, Ga.) groundout.  With Moore on third, senior Michael Courtney (Knoxville, Tenn.) perfectly executed a squeeze bunt bringing home the third Buc run.

Russell struck again in the sixth, crushing Herring's first pitch over the inning well over the left field wall for his A-Sun leading eighth home run of the season.

Russell worked a two-out walk in the eighth, and after advancing to second on a wild pitch, score what proved to be the game winner on freshman Danny Petro's (Atlanta, Ga.) single up the middle.

Freshman Todd Caldwell (Johnson City, Tenn.) worked 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on six hits for his second career victory (2-0).  Freshman Drew Story (Jefferson City, Tenn.) recorded the final five outs for his first career save.  Herring (1-5) went the distance for the Camels (6-24, 2-7), striking out six.

Russell finished the day 5-for-8 with three runs scored, two RB, a double and two home runs.

The Bucs are back in action Wednesday night, traveling to Knoxville to take on state rival Tennessee at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.  First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
