Russell and Hoilman named to All-Conference Teams
Anthony Russell Thursday, May 22, 2008 JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 21, 2008) - The ETSU baseball team had two players named to the Atlantic Sun All-Conference Teams, announced on Tuesday by the conference office. "This is a wonderful honor for Anthony and Paul," said head coach Tony Skole. "They were literally our cornerstones this year and both of them had tremendous seasons. I couldn't be more proud of them." Senior Anthony Russell ( "Anthony Russell was simply amazing this season," said Skole. "Over the last four years, to watch him mature and develop into the outstanding young man and player he has become has been very gratifying for our coaching staff. His 21 homeruns puts him in a very select group of hitters in college baseball. It was fun to watch him hit and he definitely deserves this wonderful honor." Paul Hoilman ( "Paul was simply amazing this year as well," Skole said. "Once he got his opportunity, he pounced on it and never looked back. His development and maturity for a freshman are the best I have ever seen in my entire coaching career. He is a special player that doesn't come around very often. It is also worth mentioning that he is one of the top students on the entire ETSU campus. Our coaching staff is very proud of Paul and he deserves every honor which comes his way." Hoilman's All-Freshman selection is the second straight for coach Skole with catcher Danny Petro (Atlanta, Ga.) being selected last season to the A-sun All-Freshman Team.
