JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 29, 2009) -Sophomore Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) was named the Southeast Player of the Week by CollegeBaseballInsider.com Wednesday.
Hoilman batted .682 (15-for-22) with seven doubles, one homer, 10 runs and eight RBI as the Buccaneers won five times to extend its winning streak to a school-record nine. Hoilman had an on-base percentage of .750 and a slugging percentage of 1.136. He raised his batting average from .331 to .379. Hoilman had two doubles and two RBI in a win at Tennessee. He had three hits and two runs in a victory over Radford. In a three-game sweep of High Point, Hoilman went 9-for-13 with four doubles, a homer, seven runs and six RBI.
Hoilman is one of four players chosen for this week's Regional Players of the Week, including J.T Ross of Northeastern, Jesse Sawyer of South Dakota State and Eric Marshall of TCU. The ETSU first baseman was named the A-Sun Player of the week this past Monday.
