Bucs look to win third straight conference series at North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 3, 2009) - The ETSU baseball team is set to take on North Florida at Harmon Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. in a three game series starting Saturday at 1 p.m.

 

The Bucs and Ospreys will play a doubleheader on Saturday with the second game to follow 30 minutes following the completion of the first game. The two teams will close out the series on Sunday at 1 p.m.

 

ETSU (13-12, 5-7 A-Sun) comes into the series having split its two midweek games as the Bucs defeated Tennessee on Tuesday 9-3 before falling to Tennessee Tech on Wednesday, 15-7. The Bucs are led offensively by senior Ben Allen (Kingsport, Tenn.) as he leads the team hitting .367 on the season. ETSU is 5-4 all-time against UNF.

 

The Ospreys (12-17, 6-6 A-Sun) dropped their only midweek game at Central Florida, 8-2. UNF swept Campbell last weekend on the road as they are currently on a five-game conference winning streak. North Florida is led by senior Brian Wilson who is hitting .360 on the year.

Sunday's game can be heard live on the radio on the Holston Valley Broadcasting Corporation's family of stations, which include WKPT-AM (1400) and WKPT-FM (94.3) in Kingsport, WOPI-AM (1490) and WOPI-FM (97.9) in Bristol, and WKTP-AM (1590) and WKTP-FM (97.7) in Johnson City.
