Virginia Tech hands ETSU its first loss, 10-2
Ben Andrews Wednesday, February 25, 2009 Starter Ben Andrews ( The Hokies jumped out in front 3-0 in the bottom of the first on a Anthony Sosnoskie RBI double and a Steve Domecus two-run home run. ETSU cut into the Virginia Tech lead in the top of the second as Matthew Scruggs ( Virginia Tech added another run in the bottom of the second on a Tony Balisteri grounder to second to make the score 4-2. The Bucs had runners on second and third with two outs in the top of the seventh, but Balisteri made a great play at second to throw out Fabry in a bang-bang play to end the inning. In the bottom of the seventh, the Hokies increased their lead after scoring six runs on six hits to give Virginia Tech a 10-2 lead.
