SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 17, 2009) - The ETSU baseball team will look to improve its conference standing Friday at 6 p.m. as the Bucs take on USC Upstate at Harley Park in Spartanburg, S.C.

The Bucs (15-19, 6-12 A-Sun) snapped a five-game losing streak Wednesday night defeating Tennessee Tech 11-8 at Cardinal Park. ETSU is led offensively by senior Troy Mendez (Roswell, Ga.) as he leads the team with a .363 average. The Bucs are 3-6 all-time against USC Upstate.

The Spartans (17-16, 8-11 SoCon) come into the series having won their last two game defeating North Carolina A&T 3-1 Wednesday and Kennesaw State 7-5 Sunday. The Spartans are led by Jimmy Tanner as he is hitting .366 on the season.
