Rays draft Hoilman in 49th round; Hoilman named 2010 Ping!Baseball All-American

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 9, 2010) - Junior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) became the second ETSU baseball player to have his named called in the 2010 Major League Baseball draft after being selected in the 49^th round by the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday afternoon.

Hoilman joins junior Chas Byrne (Johnson City, Tenn.), who was drafted in the 16^th round by the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday, as the only two Buccaneer players to be drafted.

The first baseman was also named a 2010 Ping!Baseball Second Team All-American by Ping!Baseball.com. Hoilman led the Atlantic Sun with a .421 batting average and 25 home runs.

Hoilman, the Atlantic Sun Player of the Year, a CoSIDA Academic All-American and a Louisville Slugger First Team All-American, currently hold the ETSU career record for home runs (51) and RBI (197).
