JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 17, 2011) - The ETSU baseball team will look to extend its seven-game win streak as the Bucs are set to host Jacksonville in a three-game series starting Friday at 7:05 p.m. at Cardinal Park.
The Buccaneers (11-2, 4-0 A-Sun) have had a flair for the dramatic lately as they have come from behind to win the last three contests on ninth inning home runs including a three-run shot by junior Dylan Pratt (Johnson City, Tenn.) at Tennessee Tech on Wednesday. The Bucs come into the series ranked sixth in the RPI, fourth in the A-Sun in hitting (.298) and fifth in the league in pitching (4.11).
ETSU is led offensively by senior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) as he is hitting .364 with a .548 on base percentage. The Bucs are 6-9 all-time against Jacksonville after taking two of three from the Dolphins a year ago.
Jacksonville (11-6, 2-1 A-Sun) has won two of its last five games including a series win against USC Upstate last weekend at home. The Dolphins are second in the A-Sun offensively hitting .309 as a team led by Adam-Brett Walker who has a .375 average with five doubles, one triple, three home runs and 20 RBI.
