(June 20, 2013) – Former Dobyns-Bennett standout Chris Cook (Kingsport, Tenn.) said having the chance to play collegiate baseball close to home was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up, and the two-way player made his dream a reality as he signed his national letter of intent to play for East Tennessee State University starting this fall.

Lauderdale, Fla.) was one of 58 baseball student-athletes to be placed on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's (NCBWA) 18th Annual All-America first, second and third teams, which was released on Wednesday. Doane was named Second Team All-American by the NCBWA.

The honor is to be given to college baseball’s breakout player of the year. The award will be presented to a top amateur baseball player who elevates his game to an elite level throughout the season.
