Freeman, Tritsch receive honors from College Sports Madness and CollegeBaseballInsider.com

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 11, 2014) – With the start of the 2014 baseball season set to get underway this weekend, ETSU seniors Clinton Freeman (Jonesborough, Tenn.) and Dylan Tritsch (Boca Raton, Fla.) collected preseason honors by CollegeBaseballInsider.com, while Freeman earned All-America accolades from College Sports Madness.

Tritsch and Freeman were both recognized in the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Atlantic Sun Conference preview, which was voted on by the league coaches. Freeman was tabbed one of the "Top Pitchers," and was selected one the "Best Pure Hitters" and "Power Threats" in the conference. Meanwhile, Tritsch – who recorded 21 stolen bases in 2013 – was named the A-Sun’s "Best Baserunner."

Freeman earned his third All-America honor this preseason, as the two-way player was placed on the second team list by College Sports Madness. In addition, the Buccaneer pitcher/outfielder also received first team All A-Sun accolades by College Sports Madness. Earlier this season, Freeman picked up All-America accolades from Louisville Slugger and by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

The Bucs open the 2014 season on Friday, Feb. 14, when ETSU hosts Longwood at 3:05 p.m. Overall, the Blue and Gold play 35 of their 56 games at home this season.
