JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 22, 2015) – Juniors Trey York (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Kevin Phillips (St. Louis, Mo.) received all-conference honors by College Sports Madness on Friday. York earned first team All-SoCon accolades, while Phillips was placed on the second team conference list.

York started all 56 games at second base for the Buccaneers and led the team in average (.355), triples (6), slugging percentage (.611) and on-base percentage. The Knoxville, Tenn., native also tied for the team lead in runs scored (55), while ranking second in hits (75), doubles (15), home runs (9), and RBIs (51). The Buccaneer slugger also led ETSU with 25 multi-hit games and tied for the team lead in multi-RBI games (14). York was named SoCon Player of the Month (February), received a pair of conference player of the week honors, and was named Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week after a dominating performance to open the 2015 campaign. In addition, York was placed on the Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list back in April. The Knoxville, Tenn. native registered at least one hit in 43 games this season, including seven three-hit games which tied a career high. York became just the sixth player in program history to record two triples in one game (at USC Upstate, Feb. 22) and belted two home runs against Eastern Kentucky on Feb. 14 at Thomas Stadium.

Like York, Phillips also started all 56 games – at first base – for the Blue and Gold. Phillips led ETSU in doubles (21), home runs (10), RBIs (55) and walks (27), while ranking third in average (.323), runs scored  (47) and hits (72). Phillips, who reached base in 23 straight games from Feb. 28-April 3, also registered 22 multi-hit and 14 multi-RBI games. The St. Louis, Mo., native recorded at least one hit in 41 games this season, including a career-high four-hit game at Morehead State (March 17), while belting two home runs in a win at VMI on April 10. Phillips was named SoCon Player of the Week on March 16.
