JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 31, 2016) – ETSU baseball officially began spring practices on Friday with an open scrimmage at Thomas Stadium.

Head coach Tony Skole is entering his 17th season at the helm for the Bucs. The Blue and Gold won the 2013 Atlantic Sun title and looks to continue that success this season.

The Bucs have received three preseason awards thus far from the College Sports Madness. Trey York (Knoxville, Tenn.), Chris Cook (Kingsport, Tenn.), and Kevin Phillips (St. Louis, Mo.) were named on the SoCon preseason all-conference teams.

East Tennessee State University takes the field for the first game of the season on Feb. 19 in a three-game series against Bowling Green University. This matchup will be the first-ever game between the Bucs and Falcons.

The Blue and Gold will continue intersquad scrimmages on Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Stadium. Admission to watch the game is free and open to the public.
