JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 16, 2016) – Members of the ETSU baseball team made a trip to Southside Elementary on Tuesday to visit Mrs. Lindsay’s third grade class.
The Bucs met with the class to talk about the importance of working hard in school and to never give up on reaching their goals. The class then split up in small groups where the Baseball Bucs assisted with class projects.
Mrs. Lindsay and her class appreciated that the Bucs took time to come talk to the group and give back to the community.
"We are very thankful to have members of the ETSU Baseball team stop by and speak to my class,” said Lindsay. “They were inspiration to my third graders. The Bucs taught my class to reach higher as they pursue their dreams.”
Coach Skole and the Bucs take pride in giving back to the community and being role models to the children in our area.
“We have always taken a lot of pride in spending quality time with the young people in our community,” said Skole. “Our guys had a great time visiting yesterday visiting Mrs. Lindsay’s classroom. It is great to see the youngster’s eyes light up when our players enter the classroom. We are very appreciative of the hospitality that Southside Elementary showed our players and we look forward to visiting again in the near future.”
The Bucs wrapped up their fall season last month and are continuing to gear up for the 2017 season opener, which is set for Friday, Feb. 10 against Central Michigan.
