JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 16, 2018) – The ETSU baseball team wrapped up its fall season earlier this week by holding its second annual Bat Blast event at Thomas Stadium this past Wednesday.

The Bat Blast event is a competition involving a pitcher vs. hitter showdown between the ETSU players. This initiative was developed by ETSU’s second year head coach Joe Pennucci to create awareness for the ETSU baseball program as they complete their fall campaign.

This year’s Bat Blast champion was freshman pitcher Riley Maypother (Wall Township, N.J.), who edged incoming junior first baseman/pitcher Landon Knack (Johnson City, Tenn.) in extra innings with two key home runs in a tight final showdown.

Last year’s winner was junior catcher Jackson Greer (Knoxville, Tenn.), who is one of ETSU’s returners for this season.
