2011 Season: Was a two-way player for the Bucs as he saw time in the outfield and on the mound for the Bucs...Hit .274 at the plate with six doubles and two home runs...Was the Friday starter on the mound, posting a 6-6 record with a 5.09 ERA and 62 strikeouts...Pitched a team-leading 92 innings on the season...Had an excellent game against Marist at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and a home run...Threw a complete game against N.C. State, giving up just one earned run and four hits in the victory (5/6)...Also had a season-high 10 strikeouts in a win against Campbell (5/13).

Prior to ETSU: A transfer from Spartanburg Methodist College where he was coached by Tim Wallace … compiled a 6-1 record as a sophomore while posting a 2.41 ERA in 52.1 innings … struck out a team-best 51 batters while only walking 13 … hit .383 for SMC in 2010 with two doubles, two triples, three home runs and 18 RBI … spent the 2009 season at Liberty University where he saw action in 28 games, including six starts for the Flames … hit .250 with a home run and seven RBI, while going 1-0 on the mound in 11 appearances with 11 strikeouts.
 
High School: A graduate of T.L. Hannah high school in South Carolina … selected to the 2008 Louisville Slugger Pre-Season All-American team and was rated by Diamond Prospects as the 31st best prospect in South Carolina in 2008 … represented South Carolina in the 2008 International High School Power Showcase Homerun Derby at Tropicana Field in Tampa, Fla., finishing sixth … was a two-time All-Region I AAAA and Anderson Independent All-Area team member and received all-state honorable mention nod in 2008 … named the team MVP, Long hit .438 as a senior and .456 as a junior with a South Carolina 4A leading 11 home runs … was also was a member of highly successful Diamond Devils travel team.
