2005 Season: Played in and started 50 games last season, all at shortstop ... Chuck ranked second on the Bucs with a .387 batting average and led the team with 22 doubles ... He also scored 51 runs, hit seven homers, drove in 42 runs and stole 12 bases (in 13 attempts) ... Hargis hit .402 in SoCon games, with 14 doubles, 33 runs scored, three homers and 20 RBIs ... Chuck ranked eighth in the conference in batting average, and ninth in slugging percentage (.598) while ranking fourth in the SoCon and sixth in the nation in doubles ... He hit .375 against left-handed pitching last season and .391 against righties ... Chuck also batted .424 with runners on base, .385 with runners in scoring position and .692 with a runer on third and less than two outs ... Led the team with 28 multi-hit games and had 10 games with multiple RBIs ... Had a season-high three hits in 12 games last season ... Went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs on Mar. 26 against UNC Greensboro ... Was also 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs against Appalachian State on Apr. 22 ... Went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and a season-high four RBIs against High Point on May 20 ... Homered twice against The Citadel on May 26 in the SoCon Tournament ... Ended the season on a 16-game hitting streak, tying for the best on the team ... After the season, Hargis earned first-team All-SoCon honors from both the leagues coaches and media ... He also was named second-team all-region by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Prior to ETSU: In his two seasons at Walters State, the Governors went 95-26, with 47 wins in 2003 and 48 in 2004 ... during his sophomore season, Hargis batted .317 with with six homers and 33 RBIs ... Hargis was also 25-of-28 on stolen base attempts ... in 2003, Hargis batted .366 with nine home runs and 44 RBI as the Governors reached the Junior College World Series ... he also swiped 24 bases on the year ... following that season, Hargis earned All-TJCAA Second Team honors.
