2008 Season: Saw time as a pitcher, infielder, and outfielder…As a pitcher Byrne recorded an 0-2 record with an ERA of 10.23 in 22 innings pitched…played in 27 games in the field, batting .325 with two doubles and 11 RBIs…Had four hits against NC Central on April 29.

High School: Had a 6-0 record with a 2.54 ERA and hit .377 as a senior ... was named First-Team All-District ... was a member of a Science Hill team that finished third in the Tennessee 3A State Playoffs.

Personal: Born on January 26, 1989 ... plans to major in sports management ... Byrne comes from a very athletic family; his grandfather, Tommy Byrne, played for the New York Yankees ... his father, Charles Byrne, played golf at ETSU, then professionally ... his mother, Betsy Byrne, was inducted into the Cumberland College Hall of Fame following her basketball career ... his older brother, Shane Byrne, played baseball for ETSU, and is now playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks A team ... his sister Tara Byrne is a junior on the ETSU women’s tennis team.
