Originally from Clyde, N.C., 20-year-old Brittney Champion has been dancing since she was 4 years old.
“I started dancing at Angie’s Dance Academy. I danced for the studio of 14 years competing and teaching, and once I graduated from high school, I tried out and made the ETSU Dance Team,” Champion said. “This is my third year on the team, so I have danced for 17 years total.”
Champion is a junior here at ETSU and what she is studying is quite a mouth full.
“I’m majoring mass communications with a concentration in public relations and advertising with a minor in marketing,” Champion said.
It is obvious she knows exactly what she wants in her academics as well as in her athletic career.
Champion tried out for the ETSU dance team on a whim and made the 2011-2012 team, her first season here.
“I was so excited,” she said. “And I feel that being able to dance for a college team has been my biggest accomplishment in this sport.”
