East Tennessee State's football team will meet UT-Martin tonight at 8 p.m. (EST) in Martin, Tenn. You can listen to the game for free on the Buccaneer Sports Network

Surprisingly, Thursday night's game will be the first meeting between the two Tennessee schools. East Tennessee State comes into the game with a 1-1 record, after falling narrowly to Eastern Michigan, 28-21, in the season opener on Aug. 28 and defeating Concord, 44-0, in the Bucs' home opener last Thursday night.
UT-Martin is also 1-1 after defeating Austin Peay on Aug. 28, 21-20, and falling to Arkansas State, 63-6 on Saturday.
This will be ETSU's third consecutive Thursday night game to start the season ... This is the second of three Thursday night games for UT-Martin, with the Austin Peay game falling on Thursday, as well as the Skyhawk season finale against Murray State on Nov. 13.
The Bucs are led on offense by senior running back Gaven Varner
, freshman quarterback Carl
Meadows, senior wide receiver Andrew Nuckolls
and sophomore wideout Brian Matthews
Meadows has been impressive in his first two collegiate starts, completing 28-of-51 passes for 420 yards and five touchdowns. Varner has been a workhorse at tailback, carrying the ball 57 times through the first two games for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Nuckolls leads the squad with seven receptions, 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Matthews is tied for the team lead with two receiving TD's and also has five catches for 102 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, sophomore linebacker Mike Cullen
leads the team with 13.5 tackles, senior linebacker Matt Palmer
and junior safety Gerald Sensabaugh
are tied for second with 9.5 each and senior defensive tackle Brandon Calton
is fourth with eight. Palmer and senior defensive end Travis Williams
are tied for the team lead with 1.5 sacks each.
Special teams has also been a bright spot for the Bucs so far this season, with junior kicker Jonathan Godfrey
hitting 3-of-4 field goals, including kicks of 48 and 51 yards and senior punter Aaron Bass
accumulating a 41.5-yard average on 11 punts.
