Tiller and Calton to participate in Las Vegas All-American Classic

(Jan. 16, 2004) - East Tennessee State senior football players Brandon Calton (Pennington Gap, Va.) and Tony Tiller (Lithonia, Ga.) will participate in Saturday afternoon's Las Vegas All-American Classic from Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev. The game will be televised live by College Sports Television (CSTV) at 3:30 p.m. EST. Calton was a dominant force along the defensive line this season for the Bucs, posting career highs in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks. He finished fourth on the Bucs with 75 tackles and was second on the team with 15.5 tackles for losses and 4.5 sacks. Calton tied for fourth in the Southern Conference in TFL's and tied for sixth in the SoCon in sacks. He also had two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and a blocked extra point on the season. Calton had a season-high 10 tackles on Nov. 1 against Georgia Southern and had nine in the season-opener at Eastern Michigan on Aug. 28. Following the season, Calton earned All-Southern Conference honors for a second time. Tiller earned All-Southern Conference honors from both the league's coaches and media for a third time following the season. He played in and started seven games for the Bucs this season, tallying 18 tackles, one for a loss. Tiller missed the final five games of the season but still finished second on the team with four interceptions. He earned several conference and national honors after intercepting two passes and returning them for touchdowns against Liberty on Oct. 18, winning Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week, CollegeSportsReport.com's Division I-AA Performer of the Week, I-AA Defensive Player of the Week from The Sports Network and Don Hansen's Football Gazette and was a I-AA.org All-Star. Prior to the season, Tiller was selected as Preseason All-America and as the second-best cornerback in I-AA football.
