In recent months, several important decisions have been made regarding the possible return of football on the ETSU campus. While there have been many news reports related to these decisions, there are still many questions regarding the process that will be taking place in the next few weeks and months.
So far, the ETSU Student Government Association has ratified a resolution that approved support for an increase to the yearly student-athletic fee. This fee would be used to help fund operations for a new football program. The Tennessee Board of Regents will officially approve new fee increases at their regularly scheduled funding meeting on March 29, 2013.
An announcement on the “official” return of football would only come following the TBR meeting on March 29.
In the meantime, other announcements regarding the process of planning for a new ETSU football program may be forthcoming in the next few weeks. However, these would simply be steps in the planning and evaluation process.
