JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 6, 2015) – The ETSU football team opened preseason practice on Thursday afternoon inside the MSHA Athletic Center.
Due to inclement weather around the Tri-Cities region, Thursday’s opener was moved indoors to the Mini Dome. With less than a month until ETSU kicks the season off against Kennesaw State on Sept. 3, a group of 95 Buccaneers went through a 24-period practice, spanning two and a half hours on Thursday.
The Bucs were excited to hit the ground running on day one and head coach Carl Torbush was pleased with the enthusiasm.
“I was impressed with the excitement and enthusiasm our guys brought to practice,” added Torbush. “We did some good things today. Daren Ardis caught my eye as he made some big plays defensively, while Nick Sexton had a great deep ball to Hank Black on offense. I like where we are at this stage as it’s the first day of practice.”
The Blue and Gold return to practice on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. ETSU is scheduled to practice outdoors on the fields located next to the ETSU Center for Physical Activity. Stay tuned to Twitter for any schedule changes.
