JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 20, 2015) – Looking for the perfect place to hang out prior to ETSU football games this season? The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Food City have teamed up to create the “Food City Zone,” which will give fans a fantastic pregame experience before each ETSU home football game.

Opening three hours prior to kickoff, the Food City Zone will be located just outside the gates on the south side of Kermit Tipton Stadium, in close proximity to other tailgating areas such as Parking Lot A, as well as the path of the Buc Walk.

The Food City Zone will provide a family-friendly tailgating atmosphere complete with fan participation games, food sampling, special promotional tents, and a convenient location to all the festivities outside of Kermit Tipton Stadium.

“We are extremely excited to be part of the return of football to ETSU and look forward to being a sponsor and helping the fans have a great tailgate experience,” said Food City President and CEO Steve Smith.

ETSU Senior Associate Athletic Director/COO Scott Carter said the program is grateful for Food City’s support of ETSU athletics.

“We are extremely appreciative of the partnership and support of Food City, and we are grateful for their efforts to help us create a fantastic pregame atmosphere for our fans,” Carter said. “Food City is one of the corporate and philanthropic leaders in our community, and their participation in the return of ETSU football has been tremendous. Food City truly fits the ETSU athletics’ mantra of Excellence Every Day.”
