JOHNSON CITY – East Tennessee State University students, faculty and staff and members of the community are invited to celebrate the return of football to the university during a “Bonfire, Pep Rally and Bucky Reveal” on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
Taking place the evening before the opening game of the new football program and the 2015 season, this event will begin at 8 p.m. in Parking Lot 19.
Head football coach Carl Torbush will speak and introduce ETSU’s new Bucky mascot. ETSU football players, cheerleaders and the marching band will also appear.
“We hope this can become a new tradition as ETSU football starts back up,” said Ryan Baird, vice president of the Student Government Association at ETSU. “I personally look forward to coming back to these bonfires for many years to come. This is a great way to engage not only the students at East Tennessee State University, but also Northeast Tennessee as a whole.”
Parking Lot 19 is located off Jack Vest Drive between the Basler Center for Physical Activity and the Physical Plant on the west end of campus.
