Over 15,000 fans have entered the gates at Kermit Tipton Stadium to support the ETSU football team in its first two games this season. The fans have helped create an exciting game day atmosphere in and around the stadium, and head coach Carl Torbush thanks the Buccaneer faithful for their dedication to the program.
Below is a letter from Coach Torbush and ETSU football thanking fans for their support.
I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting our program. We know it's been a tough two weeks for our loyal supporters. Building this program is a process and we are going through a lot of growing pains, but we are getting better every day.
Each of us who represents the ETSU football program truly appreciates the excitement you have created around Kermit Tipton Stadium. From tailgating, to the Buc Walk, to our pregame entrance through the “E,” and your cheering during the game, we are developing a very special game atmosphere that all of you should be proud of. With Homecoming on the horizon, we look forward to having you back on campus to celebrate this special time with family, friends and teammates.
The players, coaching staff and I personally want to thank you for being our strong 12th man. As a coach on the sidelines, hearing the noise and enthusiasm throughout the stadium makes it difficult for the opposing team to communicate. Our players feed off your energy and we need you to continue being loud at our games.
Below is a quote we preach to our players…
“Each game gives us experience. Each practice helps us improve. This process will give us a foundation on which to establish a consistent, solid and winning program.”
To develop a winning program, we need your support as we continue to lay the foundation and follow our Athletic Department’s motto of showing Excellence Every Day. As we work towards building a championship program for years to come, we look forward to celebrating that with you.
We thank you for your support and dedication, because none of this would be possible without you – our Buccaneer family.
