Bucs unveil images of the Gridiron Turf and video board at Thursday’s media event

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 25, 2017) – 100 days and counting… 

Thursday marks 100 days until the East Tennessee State University football team opens its 2017 season inside the Buccaneers’ newly built on-campus stadium. Leading up to the season opener on September 2 against Limestone (7 p.m. kickoff), the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics unveiled images of the playing turf and video board, while giving fans a tour of the stadium. 

TURF INSTALLATION

  • Grading has started and sub-surface will be completed in mid-June with the turf installation taking place from mid-June through mid-July
  • The Gold “E” outlined in Blue will be displayed at midfield
  • The end zones will be in blue with the gold ETSU word mark being featured in the north end zone and Bucs spelled out in the south end zone
  • A gold border wraps around the outside of each end zone – starting at the 25-yard lines – to identify the team bench areas
  • Southern Conference logos (SoCon) will be featured at the 25-yard lines
  • Advanced Polymer Technology Corp. manufactured the Gridiron turf, while Carolina Green Corp. will lead the installation process this summer 

VIDEO BOARD INSTALLATION

  • A video board 63-feet high by 45-feet wide will be displayed at the south end zone of the stadium
  • The video board screen measures 25-feet by 45-feet
  • The Gold “E” will be centered at the top of the video board, while two 28-foot legs will act as the support
  • The installation process for the video board will begin in June and will be completed by early August 

SEATING OPTIONS FOR THE STADIUM

The ETSU Football Stadium will provide six different seating for fans

  1. Skyboxes (Currently Sold Out)
  2. Club Level Seating (95% sold out) – Box-style seating with chair back and cup holder, along with temperature controlled club environment and exclusive club level hospitality access – MORE INFO
  3. Mid-field Level Seating (75% sold out) – Box-style seating with chair back and cup holder – MORE INFO
  4. Gold Level Seating – Bench-type seating with back support; located near the 50-yard line
  5. Silver Level Seating – Bench-type seating with back support; located between the 20 and 40-yard lines
  6. Bronze Level Seating – Aluminum benches with no back support; located between the goal line and 20-yard line
  • The stadium will feature over 7,000 seats with ability to house over 10,000 via standing room only

  • June 30 is an important priority deadline for the purchase of season tickets and excellence fund gifts, which can enhance donor priority seat selection
