JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 2, 2018) – As ETSU football approaches kickoff for the 2018 campaign, ETSUBucs.com will count down the days by featuring the program’s 21 seniors on the site and via social media throughout the summer months.
Today marks 91 days until the Buccaneers open the season against Mars Hill on Saturday, Sept. 1 at William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium. Senior defensive lineman and No. 91 Chris Bouyer (Rock Hill, S.C.) is the second player to be featured in this special segment.
Bouyer has started all 33 games for the Blue and Gold since the restart of the program in 2015. The Rock Hill, S.C. native has registered 90 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and one fumble over his career. Bouyer has recorded at least one tackle in 31 games, while posting a career-high seven tackles versus Wofford this past season. The Buccaneer defensive lineman finished with three solo tackles in ETSU’s 20-17 double-overtime win at Kennesaw State to open the 2016 campaign, while finishing that season with three tackles in the 15-14 victory over No. 18 Samford. Bouyer, a three-time Southern Conference Honor Roll member, was named to the class of 2017 Arthur Ashe Sports Scholars.

Along with a six-game home schedule that features matchups with Mars Hill (Sept. 1), Furman (Sept. 22), Chattanooga (Sept. 29), Gardener-Webb (Oct. 6), Western Carolina (Oct. 27) and Samford (Nov. 17), the Bucs will also hit the road for the program’s first-ever trip to Neyland Stadium to take on Tennessee on Sept. 8.
