JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 9, 2018)– As ETSU football approaches kickoff for the 2018 campaign, ETSUBucs.com will count down the days by featuring the program’s 21 seniors on the site and via social media throughout the summer months.
Today marks 84 days until the Buccaneers open the season against Mars Hill on Saturday, Sept. 1 at William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium. Senior tight end and No. 84 Justin Gilliam (Jonesville, Va.) is the sixth player to be featured in this special segment.
Gilliam is entering his final season in the Blue and Gold and has played tight end, along with being a strong asset on special teams. The Jonesville, Va. native has played in 27 of the possible 33 games over his career, while totaling one reception, one punt return, three tackles and a blocked punt. Gilliam recorded his first collegiate reception (11 yards) last season at then-No. 1 James Madison. The SoCon Honor Roll member had a 16-yard punt return and blocked a punt at Robert Morris in 2015. Gilliam also recorded a tackle in that game, along adding tackles at Mercer and in the win over Kentucky Wesleyan.
