JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 6, 2019) -- The East Tennessee State University football team concluded its 2019 National Signing Day by holding a press conference to announce the Buccaneers’ 28-man class on Wednesday evening inside the Ramsey Tower at William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium.
Head coach Randy Sanders met with the media Wednesday evening to highlight the recruiting class.
“We are excited about this signing class,” said Sanders.“There were a lot of positions to fill after graduating a large senior class, and we feel this group addresses those needs. This class features a lot of speed, athleticism and size, and it will create competition at various positions.
Of the 28 signees, nine are from Tennessee, seven via Georgia, three from North Carolina, two from Florida and Ohio, and one each from Alabama, Kentucky, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
In addition, 18 are multi-sport athletes, while the positional breakdown consists of: five wide receivers, four offensive linemen, four defensive linemen, three linebackers and defensive backs, two quarterbacks, two tight ends and two linebackers/defensive ends, and one running back.
