Big tight end with good speed and hands ... will battle for the starting tight end position after a strong 2002 season and a great spring. 2002: Played in 11 games, starting four ... started four of the last six games of the season ... hauled in three passes, one each against Mars Hill (Sept. 7), Gardner-Webb (Sept. 14) and Elon (Oct. 19) ... caught his first career touchdown pass against Mars Hill, a five-yard strike from Jatavis Sanders ... his longest reception was eight yards against Elon ... also made three special-teams tackles on the season. 2001: Played in just two games, making one tackle against The Citadel (10/4). 2000: Played in all 11 games ... recorded four tackles ... season-high two stops against VMI (9/16). 1999: Missed season due to injury. 1998: Redshirted. High School: A three-year letterman for Coach Chuck Jordan at Pulaski High School ... all-region honors during his senior campaign, when he recorded 68 tackles, including 14 sacks ... also earned two varsity letters in track.
