Johnson City, Tenn. (Nov. 27, 2001) - Three players on East Tennessee State's football team were named to the All-Southern Conference team as selected by the league's nine head coaches the conference announced today. Junior wide receiver Cecil Moore (Morristown, Tenn.) leads the group as a first team selection. Senior tight end Nick Hendrickson (Greenville, Tenn.) and sophomore defensive lineman Brandon Calton (Pennington Gap, Va.) were both second team selections. Moore, a second team selection a year ago, led Southern Conference receivers with 57 receptions for 908 yards and five touchdowns. His yardage total was the best of his career. Already one of ETSU's all-time leading receivers, Moore has totaled 117 catches for 1,806 yards and 12 touchdowns. His reception totals are fifth in the ETSU record books, while his yardage total stands at fourth. Hendrickson started all 11 games for the Bucs at tight end this season and played a significant role on the Bucs' offensive line. He finished third on the team in receptions and reception yardage, hauling in 14 passes for 150 yards and one touchdown. Calton has become a fixture on the ETSU defensive front in his first two years, playing in every game since he has been at ETSU. He topped the Bucs' linemen this season in tackles, finishing with a total of 46. He finished among the squad's leaders in tackles for loss with six, and in sacks with four.
