Johnson City, Tenn. (Aug. 16, 2002) - East Tennessee State football fans around the South will have a pair of opportunities to tune in and watch the Buccaneers on television this season as ETSU is scheduled to play two games on the Comcast Sports South network in 2002. The Bucs will play back-to-back games on the tube, starting with their home game against Furman on October 26 and again the next Saturday when ETSU travels to Georgia Southern on Nov. 2. Game time for the Furman game remains at 3:30 p.m., while the Georgia Southern contest has been moved to 3:00 p.m. to accommodate the broadcast.
Ranked as high as eighth in the preseason polls, ETSU enters the 2002 season with 13 starters back from last season's 6-5 squad, including all 11 starters on defense. Wide receiver Cecil Moore (Morristown, Tenn.) and cornerback Tony Tiller (Lithonia, Ga.) are both preseason All-America picks and highlight a group of six Bucs that were selected to the preseason All-Southern Conference team recently. Currently in the middle of two-a-day's, ETSU is scheduled to scrimmage again tomorrow afternoon around 2:30 p.m. The Bucs open the season on August 31 when they play at North Carolina State at 7:00 p.m.
