Jay Sandos, "The Voice of the Bucs"
A 2000 graduate of ETSU with a degree in braodcasting, "The Voice of the Bucs" Jay Sandos enters his fifth season behind the microphone and in front of the camera.
A 10-year veteran of braodcasting, Sandos served as the radio voice for local high schools such as Tennessee High and Dobyns-Bennet, while also serving a stint with the Florida Gator Network from 2000-01. While in Florida, Sandos also worked play-by-play at the prep level and hosted a daily call-in show.
On the television side, Sandos worked locally for WJHL Newschannel 11 and is currently the play-by-play voice for the Charter main Streets High School Game of the Week.
Originally from Hendersonville, N.C., and a 1995 graduate of East Henderson High School, Sandos also served his country as a member of the US Army Reserves and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. (Jan. - Nov. 2004)
Don Helman
Don Helman begins his sixth season as part of the Mountain States Health Alliance Buccaneer Sports Network, providing play-by-play coverage of ETSU women’s basketball games, as well as bench reporting during ETSU men’s home games.
Don attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, and began his broadcasting career in 1976 with WATK AM and WRLO FM in his home town of Antigo, Wisconsin.
He is employed full-time by Citadel Broadcasting of the Tri-Cities, serving as host of Sportsline Saturday 9 a.m. to noon on 640 WXSN The Xtreme Sports Monster.
Don also serves as the voice of the Vikings on the Sports Monsters coverage of Tennessee High football, basketball and baseball, as well as co-hosting The Bristol Motor Speedway Radio Network’s pre-race shows.

A native of Charleston, S.C., John Stevens is currently in his third year pursuing an undergraduate degree in mass communications at ETSU with a concentration in broadcasting.
Before coming to ETSU, he served in the Navy aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) as a mass communications specialist, where he made three deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also served aboard USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) as Carrier Strike Group 10 Staff Journalist during Joint Task Force Katrina.
At ETSU, he works in play-by-play and color commentary for the basketball and baseball teams, and also as a personality on the Buc Sports Radio Update and Inside Buc Sports television program.

A current fifth year Senior at ETSU Stephen Linebarger enters his fifth season as the Assistant Executive Producer for the Buccaneer Sports Network. Graduating in December of 2008 Stephen will receive his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology.
For the Network Stephen can be heard during men’s and women’s basketball home games providing color commentary and analysis and serving as on site producer. During away games Stephen serves as the studio host and producer. Stephen can also be heard on the Buccaneer update every weekday on WXSM the Extreme Sports Monster as host and field reporter.
On the TV side of things Stephen can be seen alongside fellow Network employee John Stevens as they host the Sound Off a three minute segment during each Inside Buc Sports Episode.
