Gambuzza named new ETSU Cheerleading coach

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 20, 2009) – Senior Women’s Administrator Barbie Breedlove and the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Wednesday that ETSU Alumni Brittany Gambuzza will be named the new Lady Buccaneer Cheerleading coach for the 2009-10 season. Former head coach Tammy Bartow will now become the team’s Spirit Advisor.

A 2007 graduate of ETSU, Gambuzza returns to Johnson City after serving as head cheerleading coach at Carson-Newman last season. Before that Gambuzza spend two seasons as the Lady Bucs Skills Coach.

“It’s truly a honor to walk through the doors of the Dome and be the head cheerleading coach at ETSU,” said Gambuzza. “ETSU has been a blessing in my life for many years now and the support and encouragement I got from the ETSU staff and Tammy has made me into what I am today. That support and guidance not only sticks with me everyday as a coach, but more importantly as a person.”
